Gymnastics classes for children

Gymnastics for children 18 months - 7 years of all abilities

A few things your child will learn

Gymnastics helps children to build a range of coordination and motor skills including balance, agility and good posture. It aids children in developing muscle strength and endurance.

What do children learn in Gymnastics?

Children learn a variety of stretches and moves, initially warming up with the sitting pikes, sitting straddles, hamstring stretches and frogs legs etc.

They will then progress to handstands, cartwheels, jumping off the vaults on to the trampolines, skipping and forward rolling, and deeper stretching such as the splits and back conditioning. Younger age groups will learn different types of rolls, cover obstacles, handstand practice, and bunny hop practice.

A range of equipment is used including balance beams, spring vaults, trampolines, colourful stepping stones, jumping boxes, benches, hoops, crash mats and tumbling apparatus.

Holistic Development

Gymnastics helps children to learn about body awareness, improves their body coordination, and develops toned muscles. Exercise helps children to develop at emotional, cognitive and physical levels.

Gymnastic Options

Our classes are structured according to their age group and development needs; each age group will respectively have access to different equipment and undertake different exercises.

Classes are arranged in the following age bands: 18 months - 2 years, 3 - 4 years and 5 - 7 years of age.

With the younger age groups of 18 months - 2 years, and 3 - 4 years, elements of soft play are also incorporated into their sessions.

Termly classes

Termly classes are run once a week throughout each term. Find a gymnastics class near you for an after-school session or for fun at the weekends.

One-on-One Classes

Gymnastics one-on-one classes can be arranged at any time to suit your child's development needs so they can benefit from the undivided time and attention to get them to where they want to be.

Additional Support

We can provide additional coaching assistance to children to support their needs in our regular training sessions upon request.
