Our pre-school toddler and school children’s rugby classes have been specifically designed for the age bands and corresponding developmental level of the groups of children we coach. Our rugby classes work in harmony and enhance the child’s natural development, using fun games and challenging activities to teach basic skills.

Each session we follow the individual themes and cover the specific topics listed below.

 

Term Course Curriculum

Week 1-6:

Week 1: Agility and Coordination - speed, exercises, obstacles and lots of movement

Week 2: Passing and Catching the ball - Exercises and techniques to pass and catch the ball

Week 3: Carrying the ball - Running with the ball and exploiting space

Week 4: Attack - Attacking movements, evasions& team work

Week 5: Defence - Defence movements, vision& team work

Week 6: Core skills review - Review and combine skills learnt at previous weeks

Week 7-12:

During Week 7 to 12 we repeat themes but change session content whilst adding progression and development.

Week 7: Agility and coordination - Introducing passing and ball contact within the drills

Week 8: Passing and catching - Increasing number of player and complexity of the drills

Week 9: Carrying the ball - Running with the ball and exploiting space

Week 10: Attack - More complex attacking drills & teamwork  

Week 11: Defence - More complex defence drills & teamwork 

Week 12: Final review - Core skills final review, children to choose favourite drills 


Holiday Course Curriculum
